Minnesota Whitecaps shutout defending NWHL champs in inaugural game

The 4-0 victory was a perfect way to begin an era in the NWHL.

The Minnesota Whitecaps couldn't have been more impressive in their National Women's Hockey League debut than they were Saturday as they shut out the Metropolitan Riveters 4-0.

Playing at TRIA Rink in St. Paul, the Whitecaps got goals from Kate McGovern, Hannah Brandt, Kate Schipper and Kendall Coyne Schofield in the blowout victory.

The Whitecaps and Riveters play against Sunday at 2 p.m., and like the inaugural game, individual tickets to Sunday's game are sold out.

Single game tickets are still available for future games right here, or you can order season tickets for $150 here
