The U.S. women's hockey team cruised to a 6-1 win over Sweden Monday and will play for a gold medal in Sochi.

A couple of Minnesotans factored into that victory. Former Gopher Megan Bozek scored a goal and had two assists in the game for the American women. Amanda Kessel also had a goal for Team USA.

The American's outshot Sweden 70-9 in the game.

The U.S. men's curling team was beaten again in their final competition of the Olympic games. The Americans, led by Chisholm-native John Schuster were beaten by Switzerland 6-3. The loss means once again the U.S. team finished 2-7.

They stayed out of last though as Germany fell to Russia 8-7. Along with Schuster, Minnesotans Jared Zezel, John Landsteiner and Jeff Isaacson were also on the American team.

Things didn't go any better for the U.S. women's curling team, they were beaten by Korea 11-2 on Monday. The U.S. team won only one time in Sochi, despite a few better performances in the last couple of outings.

Unfortunately, for the Americans Monday's performance was similar to how the games started for the curlers. Korea took a big lead early opening up 4-0 right out of the gate.

The Americans finished the games with just one victory. Team members Jessica Schultz and Allison Pottinger are both from Minnesota.
