Minnetonka, Blake take state girls hockey titles
Minnetonka topped Hill-Murray 3-1 in Saturday’s Class 2A state high school tournament championship game, the Minnetonka Patch reports.
With the win, Minnetonka became the first girls' team to win three straight state titles.
The win came after the Skippers' marathon victory over Lakeville North in the semifinals at 1:02 a.m. Saturday morning. The teams battled it out over a record six overtimes.
Blake, meanwhile, topped top-seed Warrod in the Class 1A championship game Saturday 7-2, the Star Tribune reports.
The victory marked the Bears' fourth state title and first championship win since 2009.
