Moore soars as Lynx jet past the Stars with 78 - 61 win

Maya Moore burnt out the San Antonio Stars in Friday's 78-61 win, as the Lynx superstar was shining bright, hitting her 3,000th career point.

Moore helped lift the Lynx up from a two-game skid, leading the way with 18 points, six rebounds and seven assists.

Going into halftime, the Lynx trailed by one at 38-37. But Minnesota found their pace with a dominant third quarter, outscoring the Stars 25-9, which included a 19-0 run. Moore scored 10 of her 18 in the quarter,

The Lynx were more consistent at their shooting game - hitting 49.2 percent from the inside, while knocking down 50 percent from behind-the-arc. The Stars were 33.8 and 20 percent, respectively.

Sylvia Fowles and Lindsay Whalen both had double-doubles. Fowles with 16 points and 12 rebounds, and Whalen with 12 points, 10 rebounds.

Rebekkah Brunson rounded out the top scorers with nine points, 11 rebounds.

Notably absent from the road game was Seimone Augustus. The team reports she didn't make the trip due to a foot injury she sustained in Wednesday's game.

Anna Cruz played instead and had 14 points.

The Lynx are now 19-8 overall, and 9-5 on the road. Minnesota's road travel continues with a 5 p.m. game Sunday against New York.
