MSU's Hoppe turns his attention to MLB draft
His Minnesota State Mankato Mavericks didn’t win the Division 2 baseball title over the weekend, but pitcher Jason Hoppe hopes his dream season continues this week.
Hoppe, who set an NCAA record for consecutive scoreless innings at 55 1/3, tells the Star Tribune he’s hoping to get some attention in this week’s major league draft, which starts Thursday.
Hoppe says he did everything he could to give himself “a shot.”
Hoppe also chatted with Bob Sansevere of the St. Paul Pioneer Press. He told Sansevere that there's "nothing more I'd want to do in my life" than playing pro baseball.
