Make it 13 straight wins to start the season for the record-breaking Minnesota Lynx (13-0), who handed the Los Angeles Sparks (11-1) their first loss of the season with a 72-69 win in L.A. this afternoon.

Every time the Lynx win they break their own record for most consecutive wins to start a season.

The Lynx trailed 69-67 before Sylvia Fowles made a running hook shot to tie the game with 28 seconds left. Then, with just 2.9 seconds left on the clock, Lindsay Whalen found Renee Montgomery in the corner for the game-deciding 3-pointer.
