NCAA men's hockey bracket set: St. Cloud State is No. 2 overall seed

St. Cloud State University and the University of Minnesota Duluth will represent Minnesota in the NCAA Men's Hockey tournament.

The 16-team tournament was announced Sunday morning. Here's a look at who will be battling it out for a trip to the Frozen Four in Tampa Bay, Florida, on April 7 and 9:

No. 2 overall seed: St. Cloud State

St. Cloud State, which is coming off a NCHC tournament win Saturday night, is the overall No. 2 seed going into the tournament, and the top seed in the West Region.

The Huskies will play Ferris State on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the regional semifinals held at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.

If the Huskies win, they'll go onto the quarterfinal game against the winner of No. 2 Denver and No. 3 Boston University on Sunday at 4 p.m.

University of Minnesota Duluth

The Bulldogs are the No. 4 seed in the Northeast Region, and will play No. 1 seed Providence College (overall No. 4 seed) in Worcester, Massachusetts, on Friday at 3:30 p.m.

If UMD beats Providence, the Bulldogs will go on to play the winner of No. 2 seed Boston College and No. 3 seed Harvard on Saturday at 9 p.m.

UND No. 1 in Midwest Region

The University of North Dakota is the overall No. 3 seed, and the top seed in the Midwest Region. UND will play Northeastern University in Cincinnati, Ohio, this weekend.

The other teams in the Midwest Region: No. 2 Michigan and No. 3 Notre Dame.

No. 1 overall: Quinnipiac

The East Regional, being held at the Times Union Center in Albany, New York, features overall No. 1 seed Quinnipiac University vs. No. 4 seed RIT, and No. 2 Massachusetts Lowell vs. No. 3 Yale.
