New Minneapolis fitness center blends yoga with CrossFit-style workouts
A new route to a summer six pack is available thanks to a brand new fitness center called Alchemy in Minneapolis.
Alchemy is the home of an original workout style created by Andrea Jones and her husband. It blends strength and endurance training (similar to crossfit) with the elegance and flexibility of yoga. The Jones' created the mix when they started offering yoga at the CrossFit affiliate gym they opened in 2009.
Twin Cities Live checked it out and found the workout to be exciting, challenging and fun.

The workout facility features two training rooms where 50-minute classes are held. While the thought of being part of a "high-intensity fitness and yoga community" might sound intimidating, the program is designed to fit any person's individual fitness level, the website says.
CrossFit has blossomed into a $4 billion brand, according to Forbes, and it's only been around since 2000. The workouts are intense, yet made up of functional movements. Alchemy simply blended similar movements with yoga; take a look at their daily blog t0 see a rundown of specific workout routines.
Classes typically cost $20, although the first class is just $10.
