Schwartz broke the news on his Twitter page by tweeting he's "excited to be a Minnesota Viking." The 6-foot-6, 331 pound lineman is projected to replace Anthony Herrera at right guard.

Schwartz wants to make all of his scheduled free agent visits, and next on his list is San Francisco. On his Twitter page Schwartz said he had an "Awesome visit with the Vikings today."

The team signed tight end John Carlson, as well as re-signing defensive linemen Letroy Guion and Fred Evans. The next name to sign could be offensive tackle, Geoff Schwartz, who is expected to work out for the Vikings on Monday.

Vikings acquire Cardinals CB in trade, pick up former Bills OL

The Vikings did some more roster shuffling Saturday as the team announced the trade of an undisclosed draft pick to acquire corner back A.J. Jefferson from the Arizona Cardinals. In addition, the Vikings picked up former Bills offensive lineman Mark Asper off waivers, and released offensive tackle Pat Brown and cornerback Zack Bowman to accommodate the new acquisitions.
