NHL, players' union officials meet informally
The NHL and players' union officials were on break from negotiations Saturday, but took a lunch break together anyway, The Associated Press reported.
The informal session in New York came as talks broke off Friday after four-straight days at the bargaining table.
Saturday marked the 56th day of the NHL lockout.
Officials planned to meet again Saturday night or early Sunday morning to set up another round of negotiations.
If the dispute were settled, the Wild would have to start the season without two of its hottest prospects. Defenseman Jonas Brodin and Mikael Granlund were both hurt in American Hockey League play last week.
