Chicago White Sox 3

Minnesota Twins 0

The Minnesota Twins are still winless. They fell to the Chicago White Sox 3-0 Wednesday night at Target Field.

1. Will it ever end?

We are in uncharted territory with the Minnesota Twins. The 0-8 start is the worst since the franchise moved to Minnesota.

The Twins still aren't quite in the level of worst losing streaks to start a season. That record belongs to the Baltimore Orioles, who lost 21 straight games to open the 1988 season.

2. Hughes battles, but comes up short

Twins starter Phil Hughes (0-2) was solid through 6 1/3 innings, giving up three runs and seven hits, but taking the loss. Hughes also fanned seven White Sox, without walking a batter.

His biggest mistake occurred in the seventh inning, when he gave up a two-run homer to Jerry Sands.

3. Struggles at the plate linger

Twins hitters continue striking out at an alarming rate. They fanned nine more times on Wednesday night. Byron Buxton was the only Twin to strike out more than once.

But the Twins also didn't push across any runs or many hits, mustering just four hits on Wednesday.

Tweet of the Night:

There weren't many bright spots for the Twins, but Joe Mauer made a defensive play that really stood out.
