Not done yet: Johan Santana inks deal with Blue Jays
Injuries have kept Johan Santana out of baseball three of the past four seasons, but the former Twins ace isn't done competing yet.
According to SportsNet, Santana has signed a minor-league contract with Toronto Blue Jays. The deal includes an invite to spring training.
Santana hasn't pitched in the big leagues since 2012 because of a torn anterior capsule in his left (pitching) shoulder. The same injury kept him out for the entire 2011 season. The left-hander signed with the Baltimore Orioles last season before a torn Achilles tendon ended his comeback bid, Sports Illustrated notes.
In 2012 he threw the first no-hitter in the history of the New York Mets.
Santana won Cy Young awards while pitching for the Twins in 2004 and 2006.
