The city of St. Cloud hosted a homecoming parade in honor of Olympic medalist Alise Post on Saturday. The 25 year-old St. Cloud native is the first American woman to win a silver medal for BMX at the Olympics.

"It has been a good week and having a parade and all this stuff in St. Cloud, has been really humbling," Post said to WJON. "It is such a good homecoming being so welcomed with open arms."

St. Cloud is showed their support and admiration for Post at the parade as well as on social media:

"I've always had really good hometown support in Minnesota," Post told the St. Cloud Times. I'd expect nothing less from this crowd, so it's really cool."

A local radio station covered the parade and interviewed Post:

Yet Post had more plans for the weekend besides attending a parade in her honor. Throughout the weekend she hosted a fundraiser for multiple sclerosis (MS) research to find a cure. It's the seventh time she has hosted this annual event at the local BMX park in Saint Cloud.

According to the event's online auction page, Post chose to raise money for MS because of her former gymnastics coach Colleen Stark-Haws who was a strong mentor in her life.

The parade, two races, a spaghetti dinner and a golf scramble were all a part of the fundraiser. Post auctioned off some personal items for the fundraiser – including her Olympic bike which went for $4,100.

However, Post's weekend wasn't picture perfect. According to the St. Cloud Times, she is engaged to Australian BMX racer Sam Willoughby. On Saturday, Willoughby was airlifted to the hospital by helicopter after crashing on a BMX course practicing in California, reports BMX News. He is supposedly in stable condition in a San Diego hospital.
