The Olympic events we’re about to reveal the results of will be televised later today, so don’t read any further if you don’t want to know the results. The men's biathlon can bee seen on NBC between 2-4 p.m. The U.S. women's curling match against Japan can be seen on CNBC at 4 p.m. The U.S. men's hockey game against Slovakia will replay on NBC Sports Network at 4 p.m.

Here's what happened to Minnesota's finest athletes during Thursday's competition at the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

U.S. MEN'S CURLING

The men lost to Great Britain, 5-3 today. With an overall record of 1-3 they are having a hard time keeping up with the competition. After losing two matches to begin the Olympics they finally picked up their first win on Wednesday, only to fall back to the losers column today.

"Today we didn't play good enough to beat those guys, and they played great," Hibbing native Jared Zezel told USA Curling. "We just need to stay confident."

The men play German on Friday.

U.S. WOMEN'S CURLING

After starting the Olympics with four straight losses, the women's team picked up a win over Japan by a score of 8-6 today. Japan tied the match with two points in the ninth end, but the U.S. scored one in the tenth to win.

"It was nice to get back to playing at the level we know we can play at, and to show what we can do when we are firing on all four cylinders," Minnesotan Jessica Schultz told USA Curling.

They are back in action Friday against Denmark.

U.S. MEN'S BIATHLON

St. Croix's Leif Nordgren finished 83rd out of 88 racers in the 20-kilometer individual biathlon.

U.S. MEN'S HOCKEY

The U.S. stomped Slovakia by a score of 7-1 to open the preliminary round of the Olympics. We have a full recap of the game right here. 10 players with Minnesota ties play for Team USA (Zach Parise, Ryan Suter, Phil Kessel, David Backes, T.J. Oshie, Derek Stepan, Blake Wheeler, Justin Faulk, Paul Martin and Ryan McDonagh).
