American skiing superstar Lindsey Vonn is born in St. Paul, Minn.

Raised in Burnsville, she would grow up skiing on Buck Hill, and would go on to be a three-time Olympian and two-time medalist, including a gold in the downhill in 2010 in Vancouver.

Vonn is also a five-time medalist in the Alpine World Championships, including two golds in 2009. She has recently gained pop culture acclaim for her relationship with Tiger Woods, the world's No. 1 golfer.

Vonn is recovering from a gruesome leg injury suffered earlier this year (below), but is back on the slopes (also below) and is aiming to return in time for the 2014 Sochi Olympics.
