Orioles crush 4 homers, send Twins to 7th straight loss

Make it 7 losses in a row for the staggering Twins (8-25) as they were hammered by the Orioles 9-2 today.

Baltimore cracked four home runs – two from Mark Trumbo and one each off the bats of Chris Davis and Adam Jones.

Miguel Sano (who turned 23 today) homered for Minnesota.

Phil Hughes lost his fourth straight start and served up three (of the four) Baltimore home runs. In his last 11 innings pitched, Hughes has allowed 15 earned runs.

Joe Mauer was in the leadoff spot again on Wednesday and reached base three times including two hits at the top of the order.

Backup catcher Juan Centeno made his second start behind the plate and had a multi-hit game collecting two singles.

The Twins have day off on Thursday and open up a three-game series with Cleveland this weekend.
