Paige Bueckers lands on the cover of 'SLAM' magazine

The No. 1 recruit in the country is getting a ton of national attention.

There's a long list of names among the greatest female basketball players in Minnesota history, and the latest on that list is Paige Bueckers, whose meteoric rise to national prominence has taken her to the cover of SLAM Magazine.

Displayed on the cover, Bueckers, a senior guard at Hopkins High School, is partially covered by text that says: "THE MOST ELECTRIFYING HS PLAYER IN THE WORLD."

Already a state champion, McDonald's All-American, and the 2019 USA Basketball Female Athlete of the Year, Bueckers will finish her senior year at Hopkins and then head to the University of Connecticut where she will play her freshman season in 2020-21 as the No. 1-ranked recruit in the country.

"I don't want to just be a high school legend. I want to be someone who does it at college or the pro level," Bueckers says in a 19-minute video profiling her amazing accomplishments.

Minnesota has been home to some incredible female basketball players, including Lindsay Whalen, Maya Moore, Seimone Augustus, Katie Smith, Janel McCarville, Rebekkah Brunson, Sylvia Fowles, Taylor Hill, and Kelly and Coco Miller, among others.

Bueckers is the latest on the list. If she continues filling her trophy case at the rate she has been, she might be at the top of that list by the time it's all said and done.
