Parise models Team USA's Opening Ceremony uniforms

Team USA's Open Ceremony uniforms for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia were unveiled Thursday morning.

Minnesota Wild star Zach Parise is part of the U.S. men's ice hockey team and he helped model the uniforms.

Olympic curlers Jared Zezel of Hibbing, Minnesota and Jessica Schultz of Alaska debuted the uniforms on "TODAY" Thursday morning.

NBC Sports described the Ralph Lauren cardigan as "a patchwork design of stars, stripes and Olympic rings." As for the cost of the uniform:

Here are the prices for the apparel – cardigan emblazoned with stars ($598), cream cotton turtleneck sweater ($245), slim-fitting white fleece athletic pants bearing the “Team USA” label ($165), black leather boots with bright red laces ($395), a cotton belt accented with American graphics ($75) and a reindeer hat ($95).

The most common reaction to the uniforms is that they remind people of an ugly Christmas sweater. Sure, it might not be the prettiest thing on the planet, but they're better than the Norwegian curling team's outfit, right?

USA Today has a first-look photo gallery of American Olympic athletes wearing the uniforms. Another photo gallery has uniform styles and designs for athletes in almost every different Olympic sport. Below is a photo of Bemidji native Pete Fenson posing in his uniform.

The games begin Feb. 8.
