Parise's overtime goal lifts Wild over Flames

The Minnesota Wild waited as long as they could, but found a way to pull out a 2-1 overtime victory over Calgary at the Xcel Energy Center Tuesday night.

The Wild trailed 1-0 deep into the third period until rookie Jason Zucker's second career goal tied the score with 4:19 left in regulation. The Wild started the overtime on the power play and won it on Zach Parise's goal just 27 seconds in. It was his eighth career overtime winner.

Prior to the overtime winner the Wild was 0-for-7 with the man advantage -- extended it's power play slump to an ugly 3-for-41 over the last 13 games.

Minnesota's penalty kill unit, however, was tremendous. They held Calgary without a shot during a five-minute advantage in the second period and kept them scoreless on a four-minute advantage in the third period. Overall, the Wild killed off all six Calgary power plays.

The five-minute major was assessed to Charlie Coyle, who could get into some trouble with the league office after this illegal hit.
