Park Center high school star Quinton Hooker was named 2013 Minnesota Mr. Basketball on Monday.
Hooker led the Pirates to the Class 4A state championship game, where they lost to Apple Valley on Saturday.
Hooker, who scored 23 points per game as a senior, will play his college basketball at North Dakota.
The 25-year-old died at the scene Sunday afternoon.
The 38-year-old is facing federal charges.
