The Minnesota Lynx struggled in Los Angeles Tuesday night, falling to the Sparks 81-63.

The Sparks were too much for the Lynx up front. Forward Candace Parker and center Jantel Lavender each finished with double-doubles. Parker had 18 points and 13 rebounds, while Lavender chipped in 14 points and 13 boards.

The loss also ended an impressive streak for Lynx forward Maya Moore. She scored just 13 points, snapping an 11-game run of 20 or more points for July's WNBA Western Conference Player of the Month.

Lindsay Whalen added 13 points, but didn't have an assist on the night. Ana Cruz chipped in nine points, four assists and two steals for Minnesota.

The Sparks took a 39-35 lead into half time, but they turned up the heat in the second half and outscored Minnesota 44-26 the rest of the way.

The Lynx chipped away at the Sparks' lead late in the third quarter, cutting it in half early in the fourth. But LA was able to turn the tables again and stretch the lead back to 13 midway through the fourth and pulled away from there.
