Pavano to take next step in rehab

Twins general manager Terry Ryan tells the Pioneer Press Carl Pavano will throw 40 pitches in Fort Myers on Thursday.

The right-hander has been on the DL since June 4 because of soreness in his right shoulder. 36-year-old Pavano is 2-5 with a 6.00 ERA in 11 starts this season.

Last week, Pavano threw a baseball for the first time in four weeks.

Injured Pavano to start throwing program

The Twins don't have an exact timetable for Carl Pavano to return to the starting rotation, but he is expected to begin a throwing program this week. The 36 year old right-hander is on the disabled list with soreness in his throwing shoulder.
