Minnesota Twins 3

Kansas City Royals 4

The Kansas City Royals rallied again to beat the Twins by one run in the bottom of the 10th on Sunday.

First the Baltimore Orioles, and now the Kansas City Royals have swept the Twins in a series, leaving them with the worst start in franchise history at 0-6.

The Twins were leading 3-1 in the bottom of the ninth before Glen Perkins allowed a pair of runs to blow his first save opportunity of the season.

In the tenth, Trevor May replaced Perkins, walked the leadoff hitter and then made a throwing error on a pickoff attempt, allowing the runner to advance to third. A two-out wild pitch allowed the runner to score, giving the Royals a 4-3 win.

Third baseman Eduardo Nunez had an opportunity to score in the top of the 10th when he was hit by a pitch, but he got caught trying to steal second.

Overall, Nunez had a great game with four hits and his first RBI of the season.

Joe Mauer reached based five times, yet only scored once. Brian Dozier connected on his first homer of the season.

Miguel Sano was ejected in the 7th inning for arguing a third strike call with the umpire.

Both noteworthy and cringeworthy, the Twins struck out a total of 14 times, giving them 72 strikeouts in six games.

Minnesotans tweeted about their disappointment on the team's sixth loss of the season:

Their home opener is Monday at 3:10 p.m. against the Chicago White Sox.
