Perkins still in Minnesota with forearm injury

While the Twins are in New York playing the Yankees, Glen Perkins is still in Minnesota. Perkins complained of a tender forearm and an MRI scan revealed irritation in his forearm. General manager Terry Ryan says Perkins is "day-to-day", but he'll remain in Minnesota until at least Wednesday.

Perkins could join Twins in New York

Glen Perkins is still in Minnesota, but his left forearm is feeling better. An MRI scan on Monday revealed irritation, but no structural damage. The lefty will be reevaluated Wednesday morning and could re-join the Twins for the final two games against the Yankees.

The Twins say they’ve signed reliever Glen Perkins to a three-year contract extension. It’s a $10.3 million dollar deal, good through the 2015 season. General Manager Terry Ryan calls Perkins a “reliable” reliever, especially in the setup role.
