Vikings fans, your nerves can be calmed a tad by the most recent Adrian Peterson news.

After the reigning MVP gave the menacing statement "trust me, I'm watching" when referring to Minnesota's head coach search a few weeks ago, AP had nothing but positive things to say about new offensive coordinator Norv Turner today.

Speaking to Tom Pelissero of USA Today:

“I’ll tell you, our pass offense has really struggled in the past couple years. I think [Turner] is going to be the perfect guy to come in and get us on the right path.”

Peterson added that Turner is "a brilliant mind" when discussing his feelings on the former San Diego Chargers head man.

Turner has been in coaching for 39 years, his humble beginnings coming at the University of Oregon as a graduate assistant. Turner worked his way through the college ranks at USC and got his first head coaching shot with the Redskins in 1994.

Turner lasted as head man in Washington until 2000, and took the reigns in Oakland in 2004 for two years before heading to in-state rival San Diego in 2007.

Turner's head coaching record is 114-122-1, and he's posted a 4-4 record in the postseason.

Peterson's assessment of the Vikings passing situation is at the very least correct, as Minnesota finished in the bottom 10 in football each of the past three seasons in the passing game.

While in San Diego, Turner's Chargers finished top 10 in the league every season from 2008-2011, making Peterson's enthusiasm look warranted.

Turner last served as offensive coordinator for the Cleveland Browns.
