Philip Nelson to lead first-team at spring practice

The Minnesota Gophers football team starts spring practice on Tuesday and head coach Jerry Kill prepped the media for what to expect at a press conference on Monday.

The first practice starts at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. Click for the full practice schedule.

Kill, per the Star Tribune, says sophomore Philip Nelson will run first-team drills, "but he’s going to have to prove it on an everyday basis, just like every other player on the team."
