Zimmer, Spielman emerge from 4 hour meeting with Peterson

Minnesota Vikings General Manager Rick Spielman and head coach Mike Zimmer emerged from a meeting in Houston, Texas, with Adrian Peterson.

The meeting lasted nearly four hours on Wednesday afternoon.

But following the meeting it sounds like the Vikings running back may still have some concerns.

The meeting marks the first face-to-face communication they've had since Peterson was charged with child abuse last September, according to USA Today.

The afternoon started on a positive note as KHOU was parked outside Peterson's home and caught the running back's initial contact with his GM and coach. The result: a hug.

The big question regarding Peterson's future with the Vikings is whether he wants to return to the only team he's played for during his eight-year NFL career. The former MVP admitted recently that he still feels "uneasy" about returning to Minnesota.

Sources close to Peterson said the Vikings running back remains open to returning to Minnesota, but also indicated the 2012 NFL MVP would be willing to restructure his contract if he were traded to either Dallas, Arizona, San Diego, Indianapolis or Tampa Bay.

According to Pro Football Talk, Zimmer has twice said if Peterson is dead set on leaving the Vikings he would accommodate Peterson's request.

A.P. is under contract with the Vikings through 2017, he is scheduled to make $12.75 million from the Vikings for 2015.
