The Minnesota Twins beat the Seattle Mariners 4-2 Thursday night in Seattle.

Yohan Pino picked up his first Major League win. He pitched five innings and held the Mariners to one run on seven hits, while striking out four.

The Twins took three of four from the Mariners in Seattle. It's the first time they have won a series in Seattle since August of 2010.

Seattle took an early lead in the game, on a solo home run in the third inning by Kyle Seager, his 14th of the season.

But the Twins rallied back, they got to Tom Wilhelmsen in the third inning, scoring a pair of runs in the third inning. Sam Fuld and Brian Dozier attempted a double steal and the throw from Seattle catcher wound up in the outfield, allowing Fuld to score. Dozier moved up to third. He scored on a sacrifice fly moments later by Kurt Suzuki.

Suzuki had a big night for the Twins. He finished 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.

Minnesota added to the lead with a big two-run double from Kendrys Morales in the fifth inning to push the lead to 4-1.

Pino escaped a jam in the fifth inning, getting Corey Hart to ground out with the bases loaded.

The Twins bullpen took it from there.

Anthony Swarzak gave up one run in 1 1/3 innings. While Brian Duensing and Casey Fien navigated the rest of the seventh and eighth innings holding the Mariners scoreless.

The Twins got a break late in the game thanks to a base running mistake by the Mariners when James Jones got thrown out at third base after Trevor Plouffe made an alert play defensively to cut off a throw to the plate from the outfield to get Jones trying to sneak into third.

Glen Perkins came on in the ninth and picked up his 22nd save.

The Twins (42-49) open a weekend series in Colorado on Friday night.
