Major League Baseball's All-Star Game is in the books, as the game ended about 10: 30 p.m. with a 5-3 win by the American League squad over the National League at Target Field in downtown Minneapolis.

It was beautiful evening with clear skies, and the temperature at game time was 70 degrees.

Fans gave especially warm welcomes to Twins all-stars Glen Perkins and Kurt Suzuki, as well as former Twins Justin Morneau, who now plays for the Colorado Rockies, and Pat Neshek, who now pitches for the St. Louis Cardinals.

Derek Jeter of the New York Yankees, who is retiring at the end of the season, had a game befitting an All-Star: he had two hits and scored a run in his first two at-bats. And he got a huge standing ovation after he left the game in the top of the fourth. This was Jeter's 14th and final All-Star Game.

Broadway star and singer Idina Menzel sang the National Anthem, and the Air Force Thunderbirds did a flyover of Target Field.
