Class A: Minneota 35, Minneapolis North 18

Minneota capped off its undefeated season by winning a second consecutive Prep Bowl football championship in Class A, defeating Minneapolis North 35-18 Saturday morning at TCF Bank Stadium.

When the Vikings' senior fullback Garrett Hennen, the team's rushing leader, went down with a knee injury in the first quarter, his younger brother Isaac took his place. Isaac Hennen rushed for 103 yards and scored three touchdowns.

Minneapolis North was attempting to become the first football team from the City Conference to win a football championship in the Prep Bowl era, which began in 1982.

North's quarterback Tyler Johnson, a University of Minnesota recruit, produced almost all the team's offense, finishing with 254 total yards. Johnson rushed for 186 yards and two touchdowns, and threw for 109 yards and another TD. But he was also intercepted twice.

Class 3A: Pierz 36, Jackson County Central 8

Pierz has claimed the Class 3A state football title with a resounding 36-8 victory over Jackson County Central. Noah Boser had three touchdowns to lead Pierz to its first 3A title; the school won the 2A championship in 2004.

Class 5A: St. Michael-Albertville 28, St. Thomas Academy 21

St. Michael-Albertville won its first state football championship in school history with a 28-21 win over St. Thomas Academy in the final game of the 2015 Prep Bowl at TCF Bank Stadium.

Mitchell Kartes rushed for 127 yards and scored two touchdowns and Jacob Veire threw for 177 yards to spark the Knights (12-1),

The two teams traded touchdowns in the first half and went into the locker room tied at 14-14.

Kartes scored his second touchdown of the game in the fourth quarter to put the Knights up 28-14.

St. Thomas answered with its own TD with about four minutes left in the game to close the gap to 28-21. It got the ball back less than a minute later, but STMA's defense stopped them with two consecutive quarterback sacks to preserve the win.
