Prep Football Tourney: State semifinals complete, title games set

Minnesota's Prep Bowl XXXIschedule is set for the Metrodome on Nov. 23 and 24. Here's a class-by-class breakdown on how the semifinal round played out:


The first 6A semifinal game was played Thursday between upstart Rosemount and Lakeville North. Rosemount's run came to an to end as the Panthers rolled into the Prep Bowl with a 28-7 victory. They'll play Eden Prairiein the Prep Bowl. The Eagles defeated Wayzata, 21-7, Friday night to win the rematch of last year's 5A Prep Bowl, which Eden Prairie also won.


Totino-Grace shut out Bemidji 23-0 on Saturday to face the 12-0 Owatonna Huskies in the Class 5A final. St. Thomas Academy was three minutes away from advancing to the Prep Bowl, but a fumble deep in its own territory gave Owatonna an opportunity to score the game-winning touchdown, which it did for a 30-27 victory.


The 4A final is set as the undefeated Hutchinson Tigers rushed for 443 yards en route to a 28-14 win over Becker Thursday night. Hutchinson awaits Holy Family Catholic after it defeated Princeton 49-28 on Friday night.


No. 1 ranked Rochester Lourdes ended Annandale's state playoff run with a 20-16 victory at the Metrodome on Saturday. The 13-0 Eagles will play Blue Earth Area in the Class 3A championship game. Blue Earth earned its spot in the state title game after a 31-21 victory over the Perham Yellowjackets on Saturday.


The Class 2A Prep Bowl is set for next weekend as Caledonia and Moose Lake-Willow River won semifinal games Thursday. Caledonia, the two-time defending 2A state champion, defeated BOLD High School, 26-24.MLWR knocked off Jackson County Central, 27-20. 


The defending Class 1A state champion Dawson-Boyd Blackjacks fell to Bethlehem Academy 29-20 on Saturday at the Metrodome. Bethlehem Academy of Faribault will face Mahnomen for the state title after the 13-0 Indians beat Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City 26-20 in Saturday's other Class 1A semifinal.


The 9-Man final is set as Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley and Grand Meadow each won semifinal games Friday morning. Check out the 9-Man bracket right here.
