Tonight's slate of high school football games across Minnesota have a slight risk of being interrupted by Mother Nature. BringMeTheNews meteorologist Jerrid Sebesta says it will be "warm and breezy today with a slight risk of storms, but most of the action should hold off until the football games are final."

Wet or dry, the games should be great. Here's a look at this week's five most intriguing games.

5. Mankato West @ Owatonna

The Red Scarlets lead all Class 5A teams in scoring, averaging 58.7 points per game – more than a touchdown and a field goal than the second and third highest scoring teams Elk River and Bemidji. Owatonna has won the past two meetings with West, including a game-winning field goal as time expired last year. The Huskies finished the 2013 season undefeated while winning the 5A Prep Bowl.

"It's been a bitter rivalry going back to 2007," Mankato West head coach Mark Esch told the Mankato Free Press. "There's a mutual respect between the coaching staffs. They're a well-coached team."

4. Glencoe-Silver Lake @ New London-Spicer

Welcome to the Wright County Conference, where Glencoe-Silver Lake and New London-Spicer are trying to reclaim some confidence after tough losses last week. In fact, not only did GSL lose 47-0 to Hutchinson last week, they also dropped their opener in a close game to Orono. NLS is coming off a 26-16 loss at Holy Family Catholic.

3. Sartell-St. Stephen @ Bemidji

Both teams are undefeated at 3-0 and both teams can light up the scoreboard. Bemidji rattles off an average of 47 points per game while the Sabres are averaging 40.7. Both teams also have top ten scoring defenses in Class 5A.

“Polls are nice but we try not to focus on them,” said Bemidji assistant head coach Bryan Stoffel, according to the Bemidji Pioneer. “Polls really don’t mean a ton but we do know that we are facing a quality opponent. Sartell will present many challenges and the kids are ready to face them.

2. Hutchinson @ Orono

Hutch hasn't lost since 2011. A win tonight would give them 30 straight wins. They're supremely talented, but Orono enters the game as the No. 5-ranked team in Class 4A.

1. Prior Lake @ Lakeville North

A clash of the titans in the South Suburban Conference midway through the season? Yes, please. These two powerhouses feature dominating defenses. According to MN Football Hub, Lakeville North is undefeated and hasn't won by fewer than 17 points yet this season. Prior Lake's only loss came to a very good Rosemount team.

Enjoy the action and check back next Friday for another list of the Fabulous Five!
