If you're craving snow, Wild Mountain has plenty. The Taylor Falls ski area is the first in Minnesota to open for the season.

Wild Mountain opened three slopes Friday – a beginner and intermediate hill as well as a terrain park. According to their website, the ski area hopes to open another intermediate hill, an advanced hill and a second chairlift this weekend.

Slopes opened last year on Halloween, the site says. Due to weather, the park just started making snow about a month ago.

Friday the ski area is open noon to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday they'll be open 10 am to 5 p.m. Regular season hours will begin November 30.

Two ski areas in the northern part of the state plan to open next week. Lutsen Mountains is scheduled to open on Thanskgiving and Detroit Mountain in Detroit Lakes plans to open on Black Friday,
