Despite a record-setting night for Lindsay Whalen and a spectacular showing from Maya Moore, the Minnesota Lynx fell in overtime 93-89 to the Connecticut Sun on Thursday night.

Whalen scored the four points she neeeded to become the first player in league history to surpass 5,000 points, 2,000 assists and 1,500 rebounds. Moore also dropped 40 points for the third time in her career. But her effort in the second half nearly broke another league record.

Both teams battled back and fourth but Minnesota's woes at the three point line is what hurt them. Minnesota shot just 4-20 shots from behind the arc. The Sun also had a terrific showing from their bench, which scored 45 points in their win.

The Lynx got off to a record-setting start to the season by going 13-0 but Thursday's loss is Minnesota's fourth in their last six games. The three-time WNBA Champions sit 2.5 games back from the division-leading Los Angeles Sparks.

Next up for the Lynx is the Dallas Wings this Saturday at Target Center.
