The Wild has agreed to terms with goalie Niklas Backstrom, according to the Star Tribune.

According to Wild writer Michael Russo, the three-year deal is worth an estimated $10.42 million.

Backstrom -- who has won 184 games in his career -- won 24 games last year before suffering a sports hernia in the playoffs.

Backstrom went into surgery days after the season, and last week Wild general manager Chuck Fletcher said the goalie was fully recovered.

Backstrom will be 36-years old when the 2013 season begins, but he isn't worried about physically breaking down.

“Age is a number," he said in a conference call. "I don’t think you ever feel good about your game. It’s something you want to improve every time. I still have a lot of things I can improve and get better at.”

Fletcher went on to say that he's happy with the way the Wild is set up in goal, but even though Backstrom is only the No. 1 goalie "until someone unseats him, whether it be Josh (Harding) or Darcy Kuemper."
