Being 40 years old near the end of next season apparently won't stop Kevin Garnett from playing one more year in the NBA.
According to Charley Walters of the Pioneer Press, Garnett "definitely" will return to play the 2015-16 season in Minnesota.
"Although it hasn't been announced, pending free agentKevin Garnett definitely will re-sign with the Wolves, and Saunders definitely will return as coach."
It's been expected for quite some time that Garnett would return for a second season in his second stint with the Wolves. When Garnett was traded back to Minnesota from Brooklyn in February, the immediate reports said the Wolves wanted to sign Garnett to a two-year extension.
The expectation for Garnett won't be to play 30 or more minutes a game. Instead, the 6-foot-11 forward, who played his first 12 seasons in the NBA in Minnesota, will be expected to supply limited minutes while also serving as a Hall of Fame-caliber mentor for No. 1 overall draft pick, Karl-Anthony Towns, Pro Basketball Talk says.
