Report: LeBron recruited Wolves' Mo Williams with 'I'm the coach and GM' line

LeBron James might be the mastermind behind Mo Williams signing with the Cleveland Cavaliers this offseason.

According to 120 Sports analyst Tim Doyle, James told Williams during a Wolves-Cavaliers game last season that he's the "coach and GM" and Williams could come play for the Cavaliers if he wanted to.

Doyle claims he heard the story from Robbie Hummel, who spent the past two seasons with the Wolves before signing to play in Italy in July.

"Robbie Hummel was on the Timberwolves last year with Mo Williams," Doyle explained. "LeBron comes back the bench, he goes, 'Mo, you wanna play with me next year?' He goes, 'You know I run the team; I'm the coach and GM.'"

Lo and behold, Williams did sign with the Cavaliers.

He averaged 14.2 points in 68 games with Minnesota and Charlotte last season, and he was one of only six players in the league to score 50 points in a game when he lit up the Pacers for 52.

While James doesn't own the title of coach and general manager, it's certainly no surprise that some people think he has the power to pull whatever strings he wants as the NBA's most dominating player.

Williams has an opportunity to start at point guard for the Cavaliers now that All-Star Kyrie Irving isn't likely to return from an injury until January.
