There are rumblings that Gophers baskeball coach Tubby Smith is just a few weeks away from getting a new contract extension. The Pioneer Press reports it’ll be at least a two-year deal. Smith is already signed through the 2013-14 season.

Smith still has two-years left on his current contract, so the extension will keep him with Minnesota through the 2016-17 season.
