The Jets are reportedly interested in Teddy as well.

If the Vikings don't sign quarterback Kirk Cousins, their backup plan is apparently Teddy Bridgewater.

That's according to Ben Volin, an NFL insider for the Boston Globe.

"The Vikings told Teddy Bridgewater at the Combine last weekend that they intend to pursue Cousins, per a league source, but that Bridgewater remains a viable backup plan."

NFL Network's Jason La Canfora reports that Bridgewater and Josh McCown are who the New York Jets will look to sign if they don't get Cousins – and La Canfora says the Jets plan to fight very hard to convince Cousins to play for them.

The latest on Cousins with the negotiating window now open

So, if no other team comes calling for Bridgewater, his future as a starter in the NFL might very well come down to whoever doesn't get Cousins, unless of course Cousins signs with a team other than Minnesota or New York.

Bridgewater recently said he "definitely" wants to be a starter next season, according to ESPN's Kevin Seifert

He's still just 25 years old but hasn't played more than a handful of snaps since suffering a career-threatening knee injury during Minnesota's 2016 training camp.
