Sergio Romo is reportedly returning to pitch for the Twins in 2020.
MLB.com's Jesse Sanchez reports that Romo has agreed to a one-year deal with the Twins and the agreement is pending a physical. The veteran right-hander was a key member of the bullpen and helped the Twins win 101 games after he was acquired before the July 31 trade deadline.
For the season, Romo had a 3.43 ERA in 65 appearances. Twenty-seven appearances were with the Twins, of which he posted a 3.18 ERA and struck out 27 batters in 22.2 innings.
The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal says the one-year deal is worth $5 million with incentives that could push the value of the contract to $10 million.
Romo will turn 37 years old in March.
