Vikings' George Paton staying in Minnesota

Paton is no longer seeking the Rams' general manager position. NBC Sports reports Paton will remain with the Vikings after being promoted to assistant general manager. He is currently the director of player personnel. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Paton was among the two finalists to be the new general manager in St. Louis.

According to NBC Sports, it's not a matter of "if," but "when." The Vikings have called Minnesota home since their NFL debut in 1961, but the Metrodome lease expires after the 2011 season. The report did not state whether the new stadium would be in Arden Hills or Minneapolis.
