Report: Vikings have contacted Drew Brees' agent
The New Orleans Saints failed to sign Drew Brees to a contract extension by 11 a.m. today, so quarterback-needy teams, including the Vikings, have reportedly reached out to Brees' agent.
NFL Network's Tom Pelissero says the Vikings went into today with a plan to reach out to the agent of every quarterback on their free agent wish list, and since Brees is available, he's on the list.
Despite all of this, the Saints have major motivation to sign their franchise quarterback, and not just because it'd be awkward to see him in another uniform. ESPN's Field Yates reports that if Brees doesn't re-sign with the Saints by 3 p.m. Wednesday, the Saints will have to count $18 million in dead money against their salary cap.

Brees also told Ellen just before the Super Bowl that "of course" he'll play for the Saints again in 2018.
