Terrell Sinkfield has been a bit of a phenomenon in the football world ever since he ran a lightning-quick 4.19-second 40-yard dash at a Gophers pro day in 2013.

Sinkfield, a native of Minnetonka who played high school football at Hopkins, is now reportedly bringing his speed back to Minnesota, having signed with the Vikings, according to Gary Lawless of TSN.

He played the last two years in the CFL, having failed to stick with any of the NFL teams who gave him a shot in 2013. He was cut by the Dolphins, Giants, Bills and Packers before making the jump to Canada, The Viking Age notes.

Sinkfield's 4.19-second 40 time was never validated, but had it taken place at the NFL Combine it would have gone down as the fastest ever. Sinkfield proved his blazing speed a few weeks later by running the 40 in 4.32 and 4.30 seconds, according to ESPN.

Sinkfield was a wide receiver at Northern Iowa and his game developed in Canada. This past season he caught 69 passes for 1,030 yards and 6 touchdowns.
