Report: Alshon Jeffery picked Eagles despite better offer from Vikings
It was fun while it lasted, but the Vikings will not be signing former Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery to a big free-agent contract.
According to multiple reports, Jeffery is signing with the Philadelphia Eagles. Ian Rapoport reports that he took a shorter, less secure deal than what the Vikings offered him.

While fans are anxiously waiting for the Vikings to pull the trigger and sign free-agent help for the offensive line, general manager Rick Spielman might be trying to bolster his receiving corp.
According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, the Vikings have entered themselves into the Alshon Jeffery sweepstakes.
Jeffery is 26 and would meet the big-play need the Vikings desire. Spotrac estimates that a fair market value contract for Jeffery will be around five years for $70 million. The only real concerns with Jeffery are his health – he played in only 12 games this season and nine in 2015 – and his mind.
