The Donovan McNabb era is officially over in Minnesota. Coach Leslie Frazier says the Vikings put McNabb on waivers today, calling it "best for both parties." The move allows the veteran to sign with another team if they're willing to pick up the remaining portion of his $5 million salary. Frazier called McNabb "a class guy" and said he wouldn't have done anything differently in bringing McNabb in this year.

Kluwe, who now wears No. 4, planned on asking McNabb for the donation at the end of the season, but then McNabb was released.

McNabb's part of the deal was to donate $5,000 to a charity, buy Kluwe an ice cream cone, and give Kluwe's band Tripping Icarus five mentions while speaking to the media. Kluwe says McNabb only mentioned the band twice.
