Report: Wolves have no competition for free-agent Pekovic

Nikola Pekovic hasn't been offered a contract by any team other than the Timberwolves, according to the Pioneer Press.

Per the report, the lack of interest in the big man means Pekovic is expected to sign a four-year deal with Minnesota worth approximately $48 million. One reason he hasn't drawn any interest might be because teams around the NBA believe the Timberwolves will match any offer they submit.

Pekovic is a restricted free-agent, so Minnesota has the right to match any offer he receives.

Last week, Timberwolves president of basketball operations Flip Saunders simply stated that contract talks with Pekovic were "progressing."

Pekovic, 27, averaged 16.3 points and 8.8 rebounds per game last season.

In other news, the Wolves officially signed Ronny Turiaf to a two-year, $3.2 million deal.
