Report: Wolves trying to trade for Denver's Andre Miller

With the NBA trade deadline set to strike at 2 p.m. Central Time on Thursday, the Minnesota Timberwolves are currently involved in a couple of interesting rumors.

On Monday, Yahoo Sports reported the Wolves and Grizzlies were discussing a deal that would send guard J.J. Barea and forward Chase Budinger to Memphis for veterans Tony Allen and Tayshaun Prince. Get the full rundown on that report right here.

The Wolves are in search of tough, talented defenders to help the team push for a playoff spot in the second half of the season. Allen certainly fits the bill as a two-time first-team All-NBA defender.

Today, ESPN is reporting the Timberwolves are high on the list of teams trying to trade for Denver Nuggets point guard Andre Miller. But the only way Minnesota will make a deal is if they're able to shed the remaining $4.5 million on Barea's contract.

Miller, 36, hasn't played since a Dec. 30 public confrontation with coach Brian Shaw, according to CBS Sports. But a reunion with the Nuggets is still possible. He worked out for the team two days ago. However, a source told Yahoo Sports that "It's a burned bridge" and "the relationship is irreparable."

Before his argument with Shaw, Miller was playing just 19 minutes per game off the bench, where he averaged 5.9 points and 3.3 assists per game. In Minnesota he would come off the bench behind starting point guard Ricky Rubio.
