A couple of media reports indicate that a starter along the Vikings defensive line suffered a pectoral injury during workouts Thursday.

FOX Sports' Peter Schrager and Mike Garafolo report that 32-year-old Brian Robison sustained the injury during a workout.

According to Pro Football Talk, the ninth-year pro will undergo additional testing on the injury. Robison has missed just two games because of injuries in his Vikings career.

The Star Tribune reports that a team spokesman would not comment. But Robison himself reached out to FOX 9.

Robison has been a full time starter for the Vikings for the last four seasons and has become the veteran leader of the defensive line. He started all 16 games in 2014 and recorded 4.5 sacks.

The Vikings lost two offensive linemen to pectoral injuries during the regular season last year. The season's of Brandon Fusco and Phil Loadholt both ended early because of torn pectoral muscles.

ESPN 1500 notes that losing Robison for any duration of time next season might force some of the Vikings' young defensive linemen into early action. Rookies Danielle Hunter and B.J. Dubose, second year player Scott Crichton and free agents Caesar Rayford and Leon Mackey could all be in the mix if Robison is out.
