Reports: Wolves place Corey Brewer back on the trade block

It appears the Timberwolves are once again considering a trade involving veteran swingman Corey Brewer.

According to ESPN, a league source says the Wolves have put Brewer back on the trading block. The Wolves (5-19) are dealing with a massive number of injuries and are stuck at the bottom of the NBA's Western Conference.

The Wolves were reported to be involved in discussions with both teams, but pulled Brewer off the table when high-scoring swingman Kevin Martin went down with a broken wrist and an ankle injury sidelined point guard Ricky Rubio.

But there still is interest in Brewer, according to 1500 ESPN's Darren Wolfson.

Brewer is averaging 10.5 points, 3.3 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game for the Wolves this year.

A deal with Cleveland would reunite Brewer with former teammate Kevin Love, while trading him to Houston would connect him with former manager and coach Kevin McHale, who originally drafted Brewer for the Wolves.

Sources tell ESPN the Wolves are seeking a future first-round pick in exchange for Brewer, a price that neither Cleveland nor Houston seems willing to surrender. Houston, though, could offer Minnesota a 2015 second-rounder via New York that the Rockets possess.

Given the Knicks struggles this year, that pick may have some value in June.
