Houston Astros 6

The Minnesota Twins couldn't make it two in a row on the road as they were beaten by the Houston Astros 6-4 Tuesday night in Houston.

1. Mixed results for Meyer

Alex Meyer (0-1) made his first Major League start Tuesday night and gave the Twins mixed results. He showed the promise that has followed him the last couple of seasons as he ran his fastball up to 98 mph and struck out four in the first two innings.

He also showed the inconsistency that has kept him out of the Twins rotation when he gave up three runs in the third, while failing to complete the inning. After the game he was optioned back to Triple-A Rochester.

2. Go Go loves going against the Twins

Carlos Gomez loves playing against the Minnesota Twins. Since Minnesota traded the promising young center fielder he has made the Twins pay for it.

Gomez was 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and a run scored Tuesday night.

3. Dozier starting to swing

It looks like Twins second baseman Brian Dozier may finally be breaking out of his slump. He was 2-for-3 Tuesday night, giving him five hits in the first two games of the series.

Dozier told reporters Tuesday that he figured out that he was standing too close to the plate and feels more comfortable now.
